Not only are they good for your skin but they make your body feel good, give you energy and help keep you lean without calorie restricting. But knowing what produce is safe and what items to stay away from, can be a taunting task! Find out wich produce items you should always buy organic, whenever possible.
You can’t expect to fuel your body and achieve optimal health by eating food, laced with toxic chemicals, that your body doesn’t recognize. So, why settle for just getting by when you could be thriving? Try eating organic today and help reduce your body’s exposure to toxic burden.
The “Dirty Dozen” is a list of items available in the produce aisle that tend to have the highest concentrations of pesticide residues. The one thing that these 12 fruits and veggies have in common: a very thin outer skin that we usually consume. Therefore whatever chemicals may have been sprayed on the outside of them, we will be putting into our bodies. Pesticides are less likely to penetrate through the tougher outer skin, of items such as avocado, banana or cantaloupe. Thus leaving the edible parts of these fruit and veggies far more protected from the effects of harmful chemicals, so they do not need to be bought organic as they are much safer to consume.
Here are the “Dirty Dozen”- try to buy these items organic if you can:
- Sweet bell peppers
- Cherry tomatoes
