Good morning Beauties, I hope everyone had a great week!  One of the things I mentioned in my last post was starting off the New Year with a healthy start!  Now that we have had time to reflect on the past year and set our goals for 2018, it’s time to give our body what it needs to function optimally – H2o!

Staying hydrated is a key element to being fit and staying healthy.  Our body uses water in our cells, organs, and muscle tissues to help regulate temperature and maintain other day-to-day bodily functions. Even being slightly dehydrated could  result in a slower metabolism.  When we are properly hydrated the health and beauty benefits are endless.  Because we lose water continuously through breathing, sweating, and regular digestion, it’s very important to rehydrate regularly by drinking fluids and eating foods containing plenty of water.

Living a busy and active lifestyle, I find I am always focusing on what needs to get done each day, and where I need to go, rather than the simple things in life such as taking the time to drink a glass a water.  Sure I might of drank my 2 or 3 cups of coffee today and maybe some tea.  But unless my body screams I’m thirsty,  I just don’t drink enough water throughout the day, and this is my solution – fruit infused water.  It tastes SO GOOD and will make you feel like you are sipping on fancy water at a luxurious spa!

I now have a new routine wich helps me to effortlessly drink plenty of water each day!  Each morning I grab an empty glass pitcher and add ingredients such as berries, mint, lemon and or cucumber and then fill with cold water.  I leave my water jug and glass right on the kitchen counter for convenience.  Each and every time I pass by the water jug I will grab my glass fill it up and enjoy a delicious fruit infused hydrating glass of goodness.  If I am on the go I simply fill a glass water bottle with the infused water and bring it with me.  Making fruit infused water is so easy and it makes drinking a glass of water fun and refreshing.  I tend to consume an entire pitcher a day if not more.  If it gets low I simply refill it.  I will remake a fresh batch with new flavours every couple of days before the fruit gets too soft or too old.

I have put together a few of my favourite flavour recipes below to get you started.   My favorite combination is definitely any kind of berries, mint and lemon. Sometimes I will make an infused water and drink right away, but most of the time I will prepare ahead of time and leave it in the fridge overnight to let the fruit saturate longer.  Either way, it looks and tastes delicious.  Try one of my favorite flavour combos below and you’ll be on the road to proper hydration in no time!

Peppermint grapefruit infused water

This infused water is not your traditional kind of water, it contains all of the components to make you feel good! It cleanses your kidneys, helps with bloating, is great for the skin and helps to detoxify your body of all bad germs.


  • 1/2 gallon water
  • 1/2 lemon, sliced
  • 1/2 orange, sliced
  • 1/2 grapefruit, sliced
  • 1 cup cucumber, sliced
  • A small handful of peppermint leaves


In a large pitcher add all of your ingredients and give it a mix. Add some ice cubes if you like. Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before drinking. Make a fresh jug every couple of days before the fruit gets too soft or too old.




Blueberry lemon infused water 


  • 6 cups water
  • 2 lemons,cut into wedges
  • a handful of blueberries
  • ice


Combine all ingredients in a pitcher and refrigerate over-night to allow the flavours to infuse.  You can also squeeze in the juice of one lemon and/or muddle the blueberries a bit to intensify the flavor.

(You may drink immediately as I do often, but you will taste more flavour the longer you let the ingredients infuse. )

Lemon strawberry infused water

Infused with antioxidant-rich strawberries, lemon, dates and lemon essential oil, this infused water will help supercharge your body with important healing nutrients to flush out toxins, remove inflammation, reduce bloating, and help your digestive system function at its greatest!


  • 2 cups strawberries
  • 8 cups (64 ounces) water
  • 1 large lemon—cut into slices
  • 2  Medjool dates (optional but adds nice sweetness to the water)
  • 1 drop lemon essential oil-optional


In a large pitcher add all of your ingredients and give it a mix. Add some ice cubes if you like. Place in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before drinking. Make a fresh jug every couple of days before the fruit gets too soft or too old.  Orange slices are a nice addition to this recipe too!


There are so many different combinations of fruit you can use to flavour your water.  And these are just a few ideas,  get creative and see what you find in your kitchen .  Other possible flavour combinations to try  (orange + lemon + lime), (lemon + raspberry + mint),  (lemon + cucumber + mint) or (blackberry + cherry + lime).  To make any of these recipes, simply slice the fruit of your choice and drop into your water.  Keeping your water refrigerated will keep the fruit tasting fresh longer.
